Santa Maria Novella Farmaceutica

Have returned to this wonderful "old" Farmacia several times now .... this last time discovered old fresco's that had been closed before, so wanted to post them for you to see ... in visiting finally found out the history of this place .... it was founded by the Domenican Friars in 1221 and the Farmacia began operating everyday up until today in 1612 .... you can google this place and find out more ... it is beyond beautiful ... everywhere you go in Florence is "art" ... you don't need to go to museums ... it's out there everywhere to see ... you just need to look for it .............. enjoy the pic's .....

There is a separate room with all the 'old' equipment, etc... used way back when to make the medicines of that time ....
